Small-Town Character
Ensure Growth Fits Our Character
Our little city has a charm that we all love. As we grow and evolve, we need to be thoughtful that development enhances our small town feel without overwhelming it. Changes need to strengthen our city, support local businesses, and preserve what makes this place special.
Walkability & Bikeability
Focus on Streets and Sidewalks
Falls Church is a great place to live, work, and visit. Now it’s time to give our streets and sidewalks the attention they deserve. Starting with safer roads for better walking and biking, we can deliver infrastructure that matches the quality of our community.
Falls Church Government
Make Good Government Better
Falls Church has dedicated public servants. Let’s build on that foundation and make city services even more responsive and accessible. We can streamline processes and improve communication so when you have questions, concerns, or need help, the city gets things done.
Our Crown Jewels
Support & Promote Our Schools
Our schools are a crown jewel of the city and I am committed to supporting their continued excellence. During the last several years, City Council and the School Board have successfully worked together in a cooperative, not adversarial, way. I want that to continue.
Our public schools are a major reason why people want to move to Falls Church and City Council helps set them up for for success.
Public Involvement
Strengthen our Boards & Commissions
Falls Church benefits tremendously from a diverse set of boards and commissions that provide valuable service to our city council, staff, and community. The appointed members who serve on these bodies volunteer their time and effort because they believe in our city, and most do so without compensation or public recognition. Their dedication and expertise help shape the decisions that affect all of us.
I would like to examine how these boards and commissions can provide even more benefit to residents, city staff and council. Many were established decades ago and while they have evolved it’s important that we periodically review how they can be better.
Parkability
Drive Parking Improvements
I believe our parking policies must better serve both residents and businesses while fostering a vibrant, accessible community. The 2025 community survey clearly demonstrated that parking in commercial areas is a top priority for our residents, with more than 87% of respondents rating it as very important. It’s time we listened and acted on these concerns.
